Van Dyke is a retired commercial business banker from San Diego as well as a former founding Board member of a small independent bank in Arizona. His career covered virtually every segment of commercial banking with an emphasis on a variety of industry disciplines. Client relationships included: manufacturing, distribution, construction contractors and sub-contractors, medical/health care, aerospace, sports, education, etc. His multifaceted background lends well to mentoring new and established entrepreneurs who have passion, a drive to succeed and a commitment to making their dreams a reality. Nurturing startups thru the myriad of challenges, roadblocks and unforseen pitfalls in order to reach their goals is exciting and rewarding. Straightforward talk and communication are a MUST between parties in order to gain trust and confidence on both sides of the table. Always intrigued by visiting clients' place of business to glean knowledge not received in an in-office setting. Successful long term client relationships depend on a two way exchange of information with the management team and their respective CPA's, attorney's, insurance professionals and other strategic advisors. Van Dyke's strategy has always been to provide clients alternatives/options in their financial/banking decisions. Goal setting and action plans, with accountability, serve to keep the focus in a positive direction.
As a native of San Diego, he spent his entire career assisting growth companies in the region to achieve goals of expansion, diversified product offerings and eventual acquisitiom or sale, allowing for a comfortable retirement transition. Upon retirement, Van Dyke relocated to Arizona and has also lived in Washington, DC and Las Vegas, Nevada, with the latter where his SCORE mentor volunteering began.
