Israel Serna is a creative and dynamic marketer with a passion for helping small businesses. Connecting the dots between sales and marketing is his specialty. Utilizing an omni-channel approach, Serna believes in developing a brand and digital marketing strategy through the lens of a loyal customer.
He's spent the last 15 years working in various roles within the public and private sectors, across various industries—including the Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the Specialty Coffee Association, Constant Contact and other eCommerce Software as a Service (SaaS) companies, while serving several multicultural communities along the way.
Stephen Engelhardt, Chair, SCORE Greater Phoenix
As a SCORE Mentor, Steve helps small business owners and entrepreneurs with all aspects of running a business, including finances, operations and marketing. Over the course of Steve’s career, he gained experience working in companies from small businesses to Fortune 500 enterprises engaged in business across all industries. Steve retired from a position as a Corporate Vice President & Chief Sales Officer. Steve’s primary career focused on selling software, hardware, technical services and other high tech products to a wide range of businesses, but primarily in the financial industry.
Steve is a sales and marketing expert, especially for high tech products. As a marketing leader, Steve has extensive experience in managing trade shows, hiring and training sales personnel, prospecting for new customers and proposal writing in both the government and private sectors. On the financial side of sales and marketing leadership, Steve has experience in product pricing, building sales compensation plans, implementing sales expense controls and various effective forecasting methods. In addition to direct B2B sales experience, Steve is also experienced in product merchandising and retail.
