Your company's social media profile pages are part of your business's online image.
Having an incomplete social media profile -- on any of the networks -- is like having a sloppy lobby.
What will they find?
- A fuzzy graphic - this happens when you take a small picture and try to fit it into the larger space. This shows laziness.
- A rectangular logo cut off - You can't take a rectangular logo and upload it to a square. It will get cut off. Again, it shows laziness.
- No picture when sharing a post from your blog or web page. People ignore posts with just text and links. Pictures should be eye catching. Your website needs to be setup properly so that the "featured image" will show when shared. Oh, and make it easy for a visitor to share your site with their friends by having share buttons.
One of the challenges is that all the social media banners -- or cover graphics -- are all different shapes and sizes!
Of course the networks didn't consult each other when they decided on the sizes. Furthermore, they're constantly changing! Linkedin recently redid their whole layout including the company profile page graphic.
Never Fear! The Infographic below by We Are Top 10, provides all the sizes for just about all the graphics on the main social networks: Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, and, Google+.
