Betsy DeLaet is President and owner of HR ala Carte, LLC, a firm focused on providing project-based Human Resources to small and mid-size companies. HR ala Carte, LLC assists employers with their HR needs by serving as an “extra pair of hands”, subject matter expert for specific projects, or an on-going HR go-to resource when the need is there. It’s “HR when you need it….how you want it.”
With over 25 years of practical experience, Betsy has a diverse background that includes human resource management, handbook and policy development, human resource assessments/audits, employee relations, recruitment, benefits and compensation strategy and administration, training, and HR "help desk" assistance. Her experiences working with HR ala Carte clients since 2009, and as a consultant at MRA-the management association for 11 years, provide her with a broad understanding and appreciation for all types of organizations ranging from small start-up and growing employers to non-profit organizations, manufacturers, financial services, health care and corporate clients. Her prior work at Humana and Marian Catholic Home also round out her HR career.
Betsy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications/Public relations from the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater and has also pursued graduate studies in Industrial Labor Relations/Human Resources from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. She stays current with HR law and best practices through attendance at seminars and legal updates, participation in relevant networking groups, as well as practical, on-the-job experience.
