Worked as a mechanical/systems engineer in small to medium sized business.   Purchased the (nearly bankrupt) custom machinery manufacturing biz from my employers.   Built the biz from less then 1 to 6 million, brought in an outside manager (president) and nearly lost the biz to bankruptcy.   Sold the company in 2000 and continue to do some consulting and engineering.

Products included: large size plastic cases for the TV industry and selected consumer electronics manufacturers; custom designed precision plastic parts for the automotive, bearing and industrial markets; and large plastic tanks and bulk containers for the chemical, agriculture, industrial markets.
  • President & CEO of an international specialty construction company that designed, engineered, fabricated and installed custom designed tensile fabric structures, skylights and long span roof systems for domed stadiums and other large buildings. Negotiated the transition from USA to Japanese ownership and established two JVs in Asia.
  • Senior VP of Corporate Operations (comparable to COO) and VP of Business Development for an international company that developed, manufactured and marketed custom, high value fluropolymer based engineered products and materials systems for use in severe service environments. 40% of sales were from custom designed systems. The company transitioned from private to public (NYSE) ownership. The company had one JV in Australia, one JV in Japan, 5 domestic plants and two plants in Europe.

Second half of my career I became engrossed in sales and marketing, technical products including hardare and software.  Gradually elevated my status to Sr. VP level for small to mid sizeed companies [under $100 million].  I've also had two entrepreneurial endeavors...1st,  in 1973, co-created a retail/nursing home pharmacy system (hardware + Software) w sales & installations throughout east coast.  Was CEO-COO of this co. for 14 years.  2nd endeavor ..in 1998, I founded and ran a small Florida based, medical dealer/distributorship specializing in MRI compatible equipment and Patient Immobilization products for Radiation Therapy, & other medical supplies.  Grew the company through business to business sales as well as government sub contracts (mainly US AID) and operated this company for 12 years.
